Teacher – Nate Houge
In these sessions, individual composers will introduce participants to their own original congregational music through reading sessions. They may share some stories about various pieces, or recommend specific ways in which a song or hymn can be integrated into a service. Everyone will receive printed versions of the music with details about how to obtain licensing for congregational use and how to purchase additional resources.
Nate is a gifted, generous musician and a fine theologian. He has travelled widely leading worship and sharing his very accessible music. Nate’s sacramental values and his deep commitment to building authentic Christian community are clearly evident in his compositions. He has been deeply involved in shaping the worship life of Humble Walk, a new ELCA church in St. Paul, MN. Students in this class will learn and sing together Nate’s wonderful congregational music.
