The Center for Worship & Music Studies had the incredible opportunity to host a Composing Master Class with Marty Haugen at on Saturday, Jan. 16th.
Students joined us from as far away as Oregon as well as several by videoconference in order to talk about the process of composition, learn from Haugen’s personal experiences, and even share some of their own original compositions. Marty shared some interesting stories about the process of writing the Holden Evening Prayer service.
What an amazing experience it was to share in the music created by one another, and to learn from one of the most gifted hymn composers in the world! We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to work with Marty again in the future.
There are five spots left for registration for our Church Audio Basics class!
