Church Audio Basics Coming to the Duluth Area

Church Audio Basics

mixerJoin us on February 25, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Hermantown for Church Audio Basics taught by Jay Beech. This course focuses on an important worship tool that is used by almost all churches – sound systems. Regardless of worship style, church P.A. systems can be a source of enormous frustration. This introductory course is designed for musicians, Sunday morning audio engineers, and anyone else who needs to understand the basics of sound system operations. If you’ve ever felt like your sound system is more of a distraction than an asset, we can help! No previous experience is required.

School for Lay Ministry

Creating Worship Vitality in Any Setting

What are the essential components that bring life – vitality – to worship? How does this differ based on context, history, and congregation size? What can leaders do to enhance both the meaning and the experience of worship?

Jay Beech will convene a conversation with participants around these questions. He will report on the early findings of the Study and Enrichment of Worship and Music in Small-Member Congregations currently being conducted by The Center for Worship & Music Studies in six synods of Region 3 – ELCA. The day will also include interviews with leaders from congregations of various sizes in Eastern North Dakota and Northwestern Minnesota Synods that experience vibrant and life-giving worship.

Come expecting both affirmation and challenge as we worship, sing, and learn together.
