I had such a rich weekend! On Friday, I was at the joint men’s retreat of Westwood Lutheran in St. Louis Park and Redeemer Lutheran in Minneapolis. With Rollie Martinson as the retreat speaker and me as music leader, it felt like old times. I’m not sure how many youth events Rollie and I did together back in the day, but more than either of us can remember. It’s so great to be working with him again, both at the retreat and as a member of our board of directors!
On Saturday I was a workshop leader at Southwestern MN Synod’s Equipping Congregations day in Willmar. This is an annual one-day lay school with many workshops and a featured speaker that has grown to 1000 attendees! Amazing. My topic was “Tradition & Innovation: Moving Worship Forward in a Time of Change.” Both of my workshops were packed with people bringing great questions and energy.
Sunday morning I participated in worship at Trinity Lutheran in Watertown, MN. The service opened with these young church musicians sharing their gifts. How cool is that?!
